Core Text

Core Text
English of Core Text: “Let us make man” — from here we learn the humility of the Holy One, blessed be He: because man is in the likeness of the angels and they might envy him, therefore He took counsel with them.
On the daf / in context: The plural is an act of deliberative humility, modeling consultation even for the Creator.
Type of Learning: Custom (divine humility in consultation)
What Is Learned: God consulted the angels before creating man, teaching humility and the avoidance of envy.
