Core Textדָּרַשׁ רַבִּי יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בֶּן חֲנַנְיָה: וַיַּעַשׂ ה׳ אֱלֹהִים לְאָדָם וּלְאִשְׁתּוֹ כׇּתְנוֹת עוֹר וַיַּלְבִּשֵׁם — מְלַמֵּד שֶׁאֵין הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא עוֹשֶׂה עוֹר לָאָדָם אֶלָּא אִם כֵּן נוֹצַר.
English of Core Text: Rabbi Yehoshua ben Chananyah expounded: “And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skin and clothed them” — this teaches that the Holy One, blessed be He, does not make skin for a person unless he has already been formed.
