וַיִּגְדַּ֣ל הַיֶּ֗לֶד וַתְּבִאֵ֙הוּ֙ לְבַת־פַּרְעֹ֔ה וַֽיְהִי־לָ֖הּ לְבֵ֑ן וַתִּקְרָ֤א שְׁמוֹ֙ מֹשֶׁ֔ה וַתֹּ֕אמֶר כִּ֥י מִן־הַמַּ֖יִם מְשִׁיתִֽהוּ׃
When the child grew up, she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, who made him her son. She named him Moses,aMoses Heb. Mosheh from Egyptian for “born of”; here associated with mashah “draw out.” explaining, “I drew him out of the water.”

ותקרא שמו משה —\ldots ראתה אותו מהול, אמרה מילדי העברים זה.
English: “And she called his name Moshe” — \ldots she saw that he was circumcised and said, “This is one of the children of the Hebrews.”
