Parashas Shemos
וַיּ֥וֹאֶל מֹשֶׁ֖ה לָשֶׁ֣בֶת אֶת־הָאִ֑ישׁ וַיִּתֵּ֛ן אֶת־צִפֹּרָ֥ה בִתּ֖וֹ לְמֹשֶֽׁה׃
Moses consented to stay with the man, and he gave Moses his daughter Zipporah as wife.
Torah Temimah points to R’ Chiyya — Nedarim (verified).
ויואל משה — נדר במותא הרי זה כנוי לשבועה\ldots בנדר דנדר משה שנאמר ויואל משה.
English: “And Moshe was willing” — [concerning] a vow “by death,” this is a euphemism for an oath\ldots referring to the vow that Moshe vowed, as it is said “and Moshe was willing.”
Custom
The language of Moshe’s agreement is treated as a formal vow, relevant to the halachos of kinuyei nedarim.
