Core Text of Chazal

Core Text

English: “Who is Hashem” — the Holy One said to Israel: I desire you, for even at a time when I bestow greatness upon you, you diminish yourselves before Me.

On the daf / in context: The contrast is drawn with Israel’s humility (Avraham “dust and ashes,” Moshe and Aharon “what are we”) against Pharaoh’s arrogance.
