Sanhedrin 109b–110a / midrashic tradition on Korach’s lineage (with Ohr HaChaim’s emphasis on the placement of the genealogy) — EXTRA.
Core Text of Chazal / Classic Source
Core Text
ובני יצהר קרח —\ldots קרח בן יצהר בן קהת בן לוי.
English: “And the sons of Yitzhar: Korach\ldots” — Korach son of Yitzhar son of Kehas son of Levi.
On the midrash / in context: The genealogy is placed here so that when Korach later rises (Parashas Korach) his full pedigree is already on record. Classic sources stress that even a man of such lineage can fall; Ohr HaChaim and parallel commentators note that the Torah inserts the family tree precisely before the confrontation with Pharaoh intensifies, establishing the full house of Levi.

What Is Learned
Chazal and the classic commentators treat the listing of Korach’s line as anticipatory: the pedigree that will later make his rebellion more grievous is already recorded here.
