וּבָ֨א אַהֲרֹ֤ן וּבָנָיו֙ בִּנְסֹ֣עַ הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה וְהוֹרִ֕דוּ אֵ֖ת פָּרֹ֣כֶת הַמָּסָ֑ךְ וְכִ֨סּוּ־בָ֔הּ אֵ֖ת אֲרֹ֥ן הָעֵדֻֽת׃

At the breaking of camp, Aaron and his sons shall go in and take down the screening curtain and cover the Ark of the Pact with it.

ובא אהרן ובניו —\ldots שלא יגעו הקהתים בקודש וימותו.

English: “And Aharon and his sons shall come” — \ldots so that the Kehasites will not touch the holy and die.

On the midrash / in context: The kohanim first cover the most sacred objects; only then may the Kehasites approach to carry.

Chazal emphasize the protective order: kohanim cover, then Levites carry.
