English: R’ Yosef, or some say R’ Yitzchak, said: “A land of wheat and barley, vine and fig and pomegranate, a land of oil-olives and honey” — whatever is earlier in the verse takes precedence for the blessing. Because the Land is praised through these, earlier mention marks greater praise. The second “land” interrupts; dates (honey) precede grapes because dates are second to the later “land,” while the vine is third to the first “land.”
