TT lemma: ארץ חטה וגו' (unit 3 of 3).
English: It was taught: One who ate grapes, figs, and pomegranates recites one blessing that is an abridgment of three, as it is written “a land of wheat and barley…,” and “a land in which you will not eat bread in poverty,” and “you shall eat and be satisfied and bless.” The second “land” interrupts the subject. Rabban Gamliel held one recites the full three blessings of Birkat HaMazon on the seven species; the Sages held that “land in which you will not eat bread…” interrupts, so one recites the shorter me’ein shalosh. The law follows the Sages.
