English: “And the kohen shall take the basket” — from here they said: the rich bring [first fruits] in baskets of silver and of gold, and the poor in baskets of peeled willow twigs, and the baskets are given to the kohanim.
In Sifrei: The midrash reads successive phrases of the declaration or the curse, assigning each a concrete referent or legal implication drawn from the surrounding narrative or parallel verses.
