Core Textאָמַר רַבִּי יוֹחָנָן: גָּדוֹל יוֹם קִבּוּץ גָּלֻיּוֹת כְּיוֹם שֶׁנִּבְרְאוּ בּוֹ שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר ״וְנִקְבְּצוּ בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה... וְשָׂמוּ לָהֶם רֹאשׁ אֶחָד וְעָלוּ מִן הָאָרֶץ״ וּכְתִיב וַיְהִי עֶרֶב וַיְהִי בֹקֶר יוֹם אֶחָד.
English of Core Text: Rabbi Yochanan said: The day of the ingathering of the exiles is as great as the day on which heaven and earth were created, as it is said “And the children of Yehudah shall be gathered... and they shall appoint for themselves one head and they shall go up from the land,” and it is written “and there was evening and there was morning, one day.”
