Core Text

English of Core Text: Rabbi Elazar said: What is the meaning of “This time, bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh”? This teaches that Adam came upon every beast and animal and his mind was not set at ease until he came upon Chavah.
On the daf / in context: The emphatic “this time” implies prior unsuccessful attempts; only with Chavah was companionship completed.
Type of Learning: Custom (prior attempts with animals)
What Is Learned: Adam’s mind was not settled by any other creature; only Chavah completed him, as marked by “this time.”
