English of Core Text: “And your desire shall be toward your husband” — this teaches that a woman longs for her husband when he is about to set out on a journey; from here they said: A man is obligated to visit (fulfill the marital duty with) his wife when he is about to set out on a journey.
On the daf / in context: The verse supplies both a psychological observation and a practical marital obligation before travel.
Type of Learning: Custom (obligation before travel)
What Is Learned: A husband must attend to his wife before departing on a journey, because her desire is then intensified.
