כִּי לְיָמִים עוֹד שִׁבְעָה — אֵלּוּ ז׳ יְמֵי אֶבְלוֹ שֶׁל מְתוּשֶׁלַח הַצַּדִּיק, שֶׁחָס הַקָּבָּ״ה עַל כְּבוֹדוֹ וְעִכֵּב אֶת הַפֻּרְעָנוּת.

English: “For in seven more days” — these are the seven days of mourning for the righteous Methuselah, for whose honor the Holy One, blessed be He, showed regard and postponed the calamity.
