Parashas Shemos
וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הָשֵׁ֤ב יָֽדְךָ֙ אֶל־חֵיקֶ֔ךָ וַיָּ֥שֶׁב יָד֖וֹ אֶל־חֵיק֑וֹ וַיּֽוֹצִאָהּ֙ מֵֽחֵיק֔וֹ וְהִנֵּה־שָׁ֖בָה כִּבְשָׂרֽוֹ׃
And [God] said, “Put your hand back into your bosom.”—He put his hand back into his bosom; and when he took it out of his bosom, there it was again like the rest of his body.—
Torah Temimah points to Rava — Shabbos 97a (verified).
ויוציאה מחיקו — אמר רבא: מדה טובה ממהרת לבא ממדת פורעניות.
English: “And he took it out of his bosom” — Rava said: The attribute of good comes more quickly than the attribute of punishment.
Custom
Chazal teach that divine favor arrives more rapidly than divine punishment, as shown by the timing of the two signs.
