Core Text of Chazal

Core Text — Menachos 93b / Zevachim 32a

English: “And he shall slaughter” — [the Torah] placed slaughter next to leaning, to teach you that immediately after leaning comes slaughter, and in the place where they lean, there they slaughter.

Type of Learning

Custom (juxtaposition / semuchin) — the adjacent verbs teach both temporal immediacy and shared location.

What Is Learned

Slaughter follows leaning without delay, and is performed in the same place (the north of the courtyard) where the hands were leaned.
