Core Text of Chazal

Core Text

English: “And he shall put frankincense on it” — and afterward it is written “and he shall bring it to the sons of Aharon the kohanim” — this teaches that the frankincense is brought from his own house.

On the daf / in context: The order of the verse (levonah before delivery to the kohanim) is compared to salt (2:13): both must come from the owner’s property, not from Temple stores. Oil shares the same practical rule.

Type of Learning

Custom (sequence / juxtaposition of “put levonah” then “bring to the kohanim”).

What Is Learned

Frankincense (and likewise salt, and oil) for a private mincha must be supplied by the owner from home.
