Core Text of Chazal

Core Text

English: “And the remainder of the mincha” — excluding a mincha that itself became deficient, or whose kometz became deficient, or of whose frankincense nothing was burned.

On the daf / in context: Baraisa on the same page: three cases in which the “remainder” language does not authorize eating — deficient bulk, deficient kometz, or levonah never offered.

Type of Learning

R’ Eliezer #2 (מיעוט) — scope of “remainder of the mincha.”

What Is Learned

Kohanim eat the leftover only when the mincha, its kometz, and its frankincense were all intact and properly offered.
