Core Text
English: “And the remainder of the mincha” — and not the remainder of a remainder… remnants that became deficient between kemitzah and haktarah are forbidden to eat.
On the daf / in context: R’ Yochanan’s reading: if the bulk shrinks after the kometz was taken but before it was burned, burning the kometz does not permit those deficient shirayim. The passuk speaks of remainder of the (original) mincha, not remainder of a damaged remainder.
Type of Learning
R’ Eliezer #2 (מיעוט) — “of the mincha” excludes a deficient remainder.
What Is Learned
If the leftover flour is reduced between kemitzah and burning, the kohanim may not eat it even after the kometz is offered.
