English: “For Aharon and his sons, most holy” — to permit [remainders of] the meal-offering of [ordinary] Israelites. One might have thought only minchos of converts, women, and slaves; therefore the verse says “most holy” — to permit the meal-offering of Israelites.
In Sifra: A reading of other verses might have restricted which donors’ minchos yield edible remainders for kohanim. “Holy of holies” on this formula includes minchos brought by native Israelite men.
Type of Learning
R’ Eliezer #1 (ריבוי) — “holy of holies” as inclusion of Yisrael’s minchos.
What Is Learned
Kohanim may eat the remainders of meal-offerings brought by ordinary Israelites, not only those of converts, women, or servants.
