וְנֶפֶשׁ כִּי־תֶחֱטָא וְשָׁמְעָה קוֹל אָלָה וְהוּא עֵד… אִם לוֹא יַגִּיד וְנָשָׂא עֲוֺנוֹ — שְׁבוּעַת הָעֵדוּת.
English: “And a soul that sins, and hears the voice of an oath, and he is a witness… if he does not tell, he shall bear his iniquity” — this is the oath of testimony.
On the daf / in context: Foundation of shevuat ha-edut: one who knows testimony, is adjured, and remains silent incurs liability (and may bring an asham in the sliding-scale cases of this chapter).
