Core Text of Chazal

Core Text

English: “And he did not know and is guilty” — until knowledge comes to him later; if he then knows, he brings a chatas.

On the daf / in context: The suspended offering covers the interval of doubt. Once the person becomes certain a prohibition was violated, the ordinary chatas replaces the taluy framework.

Type of Learning

Custom (time of knowledge).

What Is Learned

Asham taluy bridges the period of doubt; confirmed knowledge triggers a regular chatas.
