וְאִם־נֶ֙פֶשׁ֙ כִּ֣י תֶחֱטָ֔א וְעָֽשְׂתָ֗ה אַחַת֙ מִכָּל־מִצְוֺ֣ת יְהֹוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר לֹ֣א תֵעָשֶׂ֑ינָה וְלֹֽא־יָדַ֥ע וְאָשֵׁ֖ם וְנָשָׂ֥א עֲוֺנֽוֹ׃

Core Text
וְלֹא־יָדַע וְאָשֵׁם — עַד שֶׁיֵּדַע לוֹ לְאַחַר זְמַן; יָדַע — מֵבִיא חַטָּאת.
English: “And he did not know and is guilty” — until knowledge comes to him later; if he then knows, he brings a chatas.
On the daf / in context: The suspended offering covers the interval of doubt. Once the person becomes certain a prohibition was violated, the ordinary chatas replaces the taluy framework.
