TT #47 · Parashas Va’eschanan · Passuk 7:10
And He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them; He will not delay with one who hates Him, to his face He will repay him.
Torah Temimah points to the derasha that Hashem repays the wicked their reward for any good deeds in this world so that they are destroyed in the next (Rashi / classical sources on “el panav”).
English: “And He repays those who hate Him to their face” — in his lifetime He repays him his good reward, in order to destroy him from the World to Come.
Diyuk of “el panav” as immediate this-world repayment of the wicked.
Hashem pays the wicked their reward in this world so that they are left with nothing in the World to Come.
