You shall keep the commandment, and the statutes, and the judgments that I command you today, to do them.
Torah Temimah treats the closing verse of the parsha as the final exhortation that links the preceding mitzvos to practical performance. Classical sources emphasize the immediacy of “hayom” — the commandments are to be done today.
The verse closes the parsha with the same language of hearing / keeping / doing that opened the long speech in chapter 4. The emphasis on “hayom” underscores that the obligation is present and continuous.
