GOD will ward off from you all sickness—and will not bring upon you any of the dreadful diseases of Egypt, about which you know, but will inflict them upon all your enemies.

English: It was taught: Rebbi says, “Hashem will remove from you all sickness” — this is burning fever, the heat that underlies every illness; when it departs, the danger departs. R’ Eliezer ben Yaakov says: this is [anxious] thought — one who sinks into worry cannot escape it; it becomes like an iron yoke and damages body and spirit. R’ Avun said: this is the evil inclination, whose beginning is sweet and whose end is bitter (reading choli against the sense of “sweet,” as in “what is sweeter than honey”).
