וְרָ֖ם לְבָבֶ֑ךָ וְשָֽׁכַחְתָּ֙ אֶת־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ הַמּוֹצִיאֲךָ֛ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרַ֖יִם מִבֵּ֥ית עֲבָדִֽים׃

beware lestclest Heb. pen; moved down from v. 12 for clarity. your heart grow haughty and you forget the ETERNAL your God—who freed you from the land of Egypt, the house of bondage;

ורם לבבך ושכחת. אמר רב נחמן, היינו דאמרי אינשי, מלי כריסי זני בישי מלוי הכרס הוא ממיני חטאים הרעים, והיינו שאדם השבע ביותר בא לידי חטא ובעיטה וכמש"כ בפ' וילך ואכל ושבע ודשן ופנה אל אלהים אחרים, וכן בפ' האזינו וישמן ישרון ויבעט, ועיין משכ"ל ר"פ דברים, ודרשה זו נסמכת על הפסוקים הקודמים פן תאכל ושבעת ובתים טובים תבנה וגו' ובקרך וצאנך ירביון וכסף וזהב ירבה לך וגו'.

English: Rav Nachman said: This is as people say — “A full stomach is a kind of bad species [of sin].” Filling the belly leads toward sin and kicking, as in “you will eat and be satisfied and grow fat and turn to other gods” and “Yeshurun grew fat and kicked.” The warning “and your heart grows haughty and you forget” is tied to the preceding prosperity verses.
