וְנָתַתִּ֧י מְטַֽר־אַרְצְכֶ֛ם בְּעִתּ֖וֹ יוֹרֶ֣ה וּמַלְק֑וֹשׁ וְאָסַפְתָּ֣ דְגָנֶ֔ךָ וְתִירֹֽשְׁךָ֖ וְיִצְהָרֶֽךָ׃

IeI That is, GOD; Samaritan reads in the 3rd person. will grant the rain for your land in season, the early rain and the late. You shall gather in your new grain and wine and oil—

ומלקוש. מאי מלקוש, אמר שמואל, דבר שמל קשיותיהן של ישראל , דבי ר' ישמעאל תנא, דבר שממלא תבואה בקשיה, במתניתא תני, דבר שיורד על המלילות ועל הקשין

English: What is malkosh? Shmuel said: something that removes (mal) the hardness of Israel [their stubbornness]. The school of R’ Yishmael taught: something that fills the grain in its stalks. In a baraita: something that falls on the ears and the stalks.
