English: It was taught: The Sages say: the thickness of the firmament is a journey of years like the years of the early fathers, as it is said “to your fathers… like the days of the heavens over the earth” — five hundred years’ measure, matching Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov (with the first years of Avraham before he knew his Maker not counted in some calculations).
