English: “This day” — was the Torah given to Israel on that day? Was that day not the end of forty years? Rather, it teaches that Torah is as beloved to those who study it every single day as on the day it was given from Mount Sinai.
On the daf: Spoken at the end of the forty years in the wilderness, “this day” cannot refer only to the historical moment of Matan Torah. It teaches the ongoing freshness of daily learning.
