וְהֵרִים הַכֹּהֵן — יָכוֹל בִּכְלִי? תַּלְמוּד לוֹמַר (צו) וְהֵרִים מִמֶּנּוּ בְּקֻמְצוֹ — מַה לְּהַלָּן בְּקֻמְצוֹ, אַף כָּאן בְּקֻמְצוֹ.
English: “And the kohen shall separate” — might one think [it may be done] with a utensil? The Torah states (Tzav) “he shall separate from it with his handful” — just as there it is with his handful, so here with his handful.
On the daf / in context: Gezerah shavah of “heirim” blocks the idea of a pre-sized scoop; kemitzah is always the kohen’s own hand.
