English: “And the remainder of the meal-offering” — and not the remainder of the remainder.
Diyuk on min ha-minchah — the leftovers must still be “of the meal-offering,” not of something that has already been reduced.
If the remnants diminish between kemitzah and the burning of the kometz, they are forbidden to eat. The verse requires leftovers that come from the intact minchah.
