ולעבדו בכל לבבכם. איזו היא עבודה שהיא בלב הוי אומר זו תפלה, וכתיב בתריה ונתתי מטר ארצכם, מכאן אמרו מזכירין גבורות גשמים בתפלה ר"ל לומר משיב הרוח בברכת אתה גבור, ונקרא גבורות מפני שהגשם הוא אחת מגבורותיו של הקב"ה כמש"כ (איוב ה') עושה גדולות ואין חקר וגו' הנותן מטר וכו'. ובענין הדרשה איזו היא עבודה שבלב זו תפלה ע"ל ס"פ משפטים בפ' ועבדתם את ה' אלהיכם דדרשינן שם זו תפלה, יעו"ש.
English: “And to serve Him with all your heart” — what service is performed with the heart? You must say: this is prayer. And next to it “I will give the rain of your land.” From here they said: one mentions the power of rain in prayer (Mashiv haRuach in the blessing “Atah Gibbor”). Rain is one of God’s mighty acts (Iyov: “He does great things past finding out… who gives rain”).
